The Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh, has urged personnel to remain vigilant, physically fit and prepared to confront emerging security threats across the country.
Suleh gave the charge on Saturday during the Logistics Command's Second Quarter Route March held in Lagos, which took participants from the base to International Airport Road and back.
According to him, the exercise goes beyond routine physical training, serving as a key military tradition aimed at enhancing endurance, building stamina and strengthening teamwork among personnel.
He said the route march also symbolised the force’s resilience, discipline and readiness to carry out its constitutional responsibility of defending the nation.
“Beyond physical conditioning, this route march serves as a symbolic show of force, demonstrating our collective resilience, discipline and unwavering combat readiness to defend our nation,” he said.
The AOC noted that the effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force largely depends on the ability of the Logistics Command to sustain operations, move critical assets and provide operational support whenever required.
He stressed that such responsibilities demand that personnel remain mentally alert and physically prepared at all times.
Suleh commended officers and airmen for their participation in the exercise and praised the discipline displayed throughout the march.
He reminded personnel that the demands of national service required absolute readiness, urging them to sustain their fitness levels and continue to discharge their duties diligently.
The senior officer also called on personnel to maintain exemplary conduct both within and outside military formations, urging them to uphold the values of the Nigerian Air Force by remaining law-abiding, vigilant and committed to duty.
He further emphasised the importance of teamwork, saying collaboration among personnel and units remained critical to achieving the operational objectives of the service.
“Let the teamwork and stamina demonstrated this morning reflect in your daily assignments. Teamwork is essential because no individual can function effectively in isolation,” he said.
Suleh also expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, for his leadership and continued commitment to improving the welfare and operational capabilities of Nigerian Air Force personnel.
